Our newly refurbished funeral home,is located at 1 Bedford Road, Henlow, SG16 6DR. This funeral home affords us a modern mortuary and a Chapel of Rest.
Baldock Crematorium Options
Baldock is usually served by one of four Crematoriums:
- North Herts Memorial Park and Crematorium, Holwell, which is located close to Hitchin. It is sat back from the road, deep in fields. It has plenty of car parking and its location and very modern building makes this a fine crematorium offering peace and tranquility
- Stevenage Crematorium, or to give it it’s correct name Harwood Park Crematorium, is located just outside Stevenage on the Watton Road and rests in its own beautifully landscaped gardens.
- Luton’s Vale Cemetery & Crematorium is located at The Vale, Butterfield Green Road, Luton, Bedfordshire, LU2 8DD. Whilst Luton Crematorium is older than the Stevenage Crematorium, it is beautifully maintained and presented.
- The third crematorium is Cambridge Crematorium, Huntingdon Road, Cambridge, CB3 0JJ.
The distance from Baldock to either Luton or Stevenage Crematoriums is negligible both crematoriums being within easy reach. Cambridge Crematorium is a little further away.
Benedict Funeral Directors Ltd also uses Bedford Crematorium, located at 104 Norse Road, Bedford, MK41 0RL. Bedford is suitable for families requiring a slightly larger facility, than that offered at by Stevenage and Luton, for funerals where a large number of people are expected to attend.
Burials and Other Options
Of course cremation is not the only option; there are different cemeteries available for burial (as opposed to being cremated). Benedict Funeral Directors are more than happy to discuss this with you. Baldock offers burials at its cemetery located off The Sycamores, Norton Road, Baldock, Hertfordshire. Burials of all faiths are welcome at this cemetery, as well as ashes interments. The cemetery has its own small chapel, which holds up to about 50 mourners.
Wilbury Hills Cemetery in Letchworth is also conveniently located for Baldock and is very close to Benedict Funeral Directors Ltd funeral home in Arlesey. This cemetery is described by North Herts District Council as their flagship cemetery and has won a Green Apple Award for environmental best practice. It offers a small non denominational chapel, plenty of car parking and different types of burial options, ranging from woodland burials to niche interments. Separate areas are also available for different religions.
