Ampthill Funeral Options
Our funeral home, and both our chapels of rest, are in Henlow Camp which is about 12 minutes car drive from Ampthill.
Ampthill is usually served by one of three Crematoriums;
- North Herts Memorial Park and Crematorium which is on the same road as our own Henlow Camp based funeral home, making this Crematorium with its large car parking facility and set back deep into fields an ideal choice.
- Luton crematorium is to be found in Luton at the Vale Cemetery & Crematorium. It has under gone much improvement in recent times making it a more modern facility. It is located on the edge of Luton. The full address is, Vale Cemetery & Crematorium, The Vale, Butterfield Green Road, Luton, Bedfordshire, LU2 8DD.
- The third crematorium is in Bedford, located at 104 Norse Road, Bedford, MK41 0RL. It is ideal for families requiring a slightly larger facility than that offer at Luton; (for funerals whereby a very large amount of people are expected to attend).
Of course cremation is not the only option; there are different cemeteries available for burial (as opposed to being cremated). Benedict funeral Directors are more than happy to discuss this with you. Central Beds Council, which is the District Authority covering Ampthill, has several cemeteries via it’s various town councils. Ampthill Town Cemetery is about 2 acres is size. It’s located off Gas House Lane and affords a Garden of Remembrance plus traditional and Lawn burials. Ampthill can also be served by Bedford Cemetery Complex, 104 Norse Road, Bedford, MK41 0RL.
Subject to permission of the priest in charge, funeral services can be held at St. Andrews Church in Ampthill or St Michael and All Angels Church in Millbrook or St. Lawrence Church in Steppingley. All three churches are Church of England denomination. The current rector for all three churches is Michael Trodden.
